We are a developer of premium grade commercial floorspace supporting the manufacturing and logistics sectors across the UK.
Our land and development portfolio focuses on high specification, sustainably responsible assets that support operational efficiency and long-term growth.
The result? Spaces that support performance, reduce impact, and give businesses the room to thrive.
Since entering the development market in 2015, we have built in-excess of 2 million square feet of new build space and over that time have established a reputation for delivering exceptional quality on sensible commercial terms.
We seek out development opportunities which others may choose to walk away from. We like a challenge and so find ourselves resolving those difficult sites which might be regarded as too hard to tackle by the majority and which mean we are converting brownfield sites, providing invaluable regeneration solutions in many Local Authority areas.
Our strategy is a simple one; we identify development land suited to our purposes, we buy, we secure planning permission, we build, we let and then we sell our assets, usually into the investment market.

Ed Chantler
Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Ed Chantler is the Co-Founder, CEO and co-owner of Total Developments. Together with Jonathan, he established the business with a vision to create one of the UK’s leading privately owned industrial and logistics developers, delivering best-in-class industrial, manufacturing and logistics facilities across the country.
A Chartered Surveyor by profession, Ed has over two decades of experience in commercial property, encompassing investment, development, funding and asset management. Since co-founding Total Developments, he has been responsible for shaping the company’s strategy and leading its growth, overseeing the acquisition, funding, planning, development, leasing and disposal of millions of square feet of industrial and logistics space.
As CEO, Ed leads the overall direction of the business and remains actively involved in every stage of the development process. His entrepreneurial approach, commercial judgement and ability to identify opportunities have enabled Total Developments to build a reputation for delivering high-quality developments, creating long-term value for investors, occupiers, landowners and local communities.
Ed’s expertise extends beyond development. He is also the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Stretton Capital, a specialist real estate finance business providing bridging and development finance throughout England and Wales. This combination of development and lending experience gives him a unique perspective on the real estate market and the ability to structure complex transactions with confidence and certainty.
Under Ed’s leadership, Total Developments has become recognised for its quality, reliability and long-term approach to development. He continues to drive the business with a clear focus on innovation, sustainability and delivering exceptional industrial and logistics schemes that meet the evolving needs of modern occupiers while creating lasting value for stakeholders.
Jonathon Beeson
Co-Founder & Director
Jonathan Beeson is the Co-Founder and Director of Total Developments and, together with Ed Chantler, has been instrumental in building the business into one of the UK’s leading privately owned industrial and logistics developers.
With more than 25 years of experience in the construction and property sectors, Jonathan brings extensive expertise in project delivery, construction management and development. His practical approach, technical knowledge and commitment to quality have been fundamental to the successful delivery of the company’s nationwide development portfolio.
Jonathan oversees all aspects of the construction and delivery process, ensuring every scheme is completed to the highest standards of quality, safety and efficiency. From pre-construction planning through to completion, he works closely with consultants, contractors and occupiers to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to the exacting standards for which Total Developments has become known.
As a business owner, Jonathan has played a key role in shaping the company’s culture and reputation, helping to establish long-term relationships with clients, contractors, investors and professional advisers. His collaborative leadership style and meticulous attention to detail have earned him a reputation for delivering complex projects with certainty and professionalism.
Jonathan remains actively involved in every development undertaken by the business and continues to help drive the company’s long-term vision of creating high-quality, sustainable industrial and logistics facilities that support economic growth and deliver lasting value for occupiers, investors and local communities.
Ted Macdougal
Development Director
Ted Macdougal is a Chartered Surveyor with in excess of 40 years’ experience working in the property industry. A Fellow of the RICS, Ted has worked in many areas of the property development discipline including such diverse fields as agency, estate management and valuation and both residential and commercial property development.
